Institutional Reflections
The following reflections come from institutional leaders with whom I have worked across digital strategy, program architecture, and knowledge systems.
They reflect engagements delivered within policy, research, and cultural contexts where clarity, rigor, and long-term institutional capacity were central to the work.
Between January 2023 and March 2025, Marshal served as Head of Operations and Digital Strategy at Kampala Analytica during a formative phase of institutional growth. His role extended beyond communications into program architecture, knowledge systems, and strategic positioning.
He contributed to the design and execution of our Kampala Analytica Tech Talk series, strengthening its thematic coherence and digital reach, and played a central role in conceptualizing and managing the AI for CSOs project in partnership with GIZ. From baseline research and curriculum design to knowledge production and implementation oversight, his work ensured the initiative delivered durable resources and measurable capacity gains for civil society organizations.
Marshal brought systems thinking to our operations—aligning public engagement, research outputs, and digital infrastructure into a coherent institutional framework. His contribution significantly enhanced our credibility within Uganda's emerging AI and digital governance ecosystem.
Since 2020, Marshal has worked with Muundo Foundation as a strategic partner in designing and operationalizing our digital-facing programs. His contribution has been foundational to how we structure art-based advocacy, digital participation, and long-term sustainability.
He led the design of key initiatives including the Visibility Economy Lab, the Digital Dignity Network, and the Cultural Data Commons—programs that embed dignity, consent, and community governance into digital engagement. He also supported the strategic framing and digital integration of our World Vitiligo Month initiatives from 2022 onward, ensuring continuity, narrative authority, and hybrid public engagement across physical and digital spaces.
His approach positions participants not as beneficiaries, but as custodians of knowledge and cultural value. That shift has strengthened our institutional voice, expanded our international reach, and reinforced our commitment to ethical, community-centered advocacy.
Marshal worked with the Great Lakes Institute for Strategic Studies during a critical period of institutional consolidation, supporting the integration of research communications, digital systems, and operational infrastructure.
He strengthened our digital knowledge architecture—transforming the website from a static repository into a functional policy resource—and led the translation of complex regional research into accessible public-facing narratives without compromising analytical rigor. His oversight of digital documentation, media amplification, and data visualization enhanced the reach and lifespan of our policy dialogues across the Great Lakes region.
In addition, his advisory support on internal digital systems and IT readiness improved institutional coherence and operational efficiency. His contribution helped position GLISS as a media-ready, digitally competent regional think tank.
